What makes a story “norgworthy” 1

I wrote a post up on the Norgdom blog which may be of interest to others as well about what makes a story “norgworthy”.

It raises some questions about our role as individuals in new media  and what contributions we make as citizen journalists to the “news”.

You can read it here, for those interested :)

Um, you know 5

Finally, Cameron Reilly invited me on to G’Day World to talk about Norg. I even think I got in more talking than him :)

Anyway, it was great to chat to him and I really enjoyed it. You can listen to the show here.

It’s been pointed out in the comments that I say “you know” a fair bit. Apparently I did it on an earlier podcast with Duncan as well.

According to Myles, who has to listen to me most days, it’s my “brain pause”.

I hope there’s more to the show than just … you know. I plan on expanding a few of the things we chatted about on the show here on this blog and at Norgdom (the Norg’s blog).

Thanks Cam, does this mean I’ve hiked up my skirt?

Post trip wrap up 0

I had a great trip and just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who I met in Sydney and Melbourne.

I love meeting the people I talk to daily through the Norg, Twitter and other social networks.

The Walkley’s were fun, but to be honest the best nights were the meetups that were arranged for me. So thanks again to everyone who came along. I had a blast - it’s taken me over a week to recover.

Kate Raynes-Goldie was my date for the Walkley’s and we did a Seesmic video when we got back from the Walkley’s, which you can see below. They had very yummy cocktails there, which might explain our “happiness”.

Also thanks to Rich for immortalising my drunken Melbourne twittering with a T-shirt. As to what it means? I don’t want to ruin a good story.
